Hekaya Books – Returns & Refunds Policy
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase from Hekaya Books. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and exchanges are handled.
Return Window
We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, and must meet the following requirements:
- Unused and in resalable condition
- Returned with all original packaging, protective wrapping, labels, and included materials
- No signs of reading damage, writing, highlighting, folding, water damage, or wear
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Important: We reserve the right to reject returns that are not received in their original condition or that are missing packaging or components. Items showing signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect the product may not be eligible for a refund.
Customers are responsible for ensuring items are securely packaged for return. Items damaged during return transit due to improper packaging may be rejected or partially refunded.
How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@hekayabooks.com with your order number and reason for return.
Returns must be approved before being sent. Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted.
Return shipping instructions and, where applicable, a return label will be provided after approval.
Unless the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, return shipping costs, duties, and taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order upon receipt. If your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately at hello@hekayabooks.com with photos so we can assess and resolve the issue.
Non-Returnable Items
- Digital products (including eBooks)
- Gift cards
- Custom or personalized items
- Final sale or clearance items
- Items not in resalable condition upon return
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. The fastest way is to return the item for a refund (if eligible) and place a new order.
EU & UK Right of Withdrawal
If your order is delivered to the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason and without justification.
Items must be returned in the same condition received, including original packaging and all materials.
You are responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the item.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of approval or rejection.
If approved, refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
- Refunds may be held until items are received and inspected
- Rejected returns will not be refunded
- Bank processing times may vary
