"I am well after you. My heart has not become a meaningless pump because you left it. My blood is well now that it no longer carries you through my body. My arteries do not ask about you as blood passes through them without you. My cells have not told my blood, 'I do not need your oxygen: bring her so that I can breathe.' My breath is not as hot as you imagine; the embers of your departure have not burned me."
